DOCTRINE OF THE REED

A. A reed is a marsh plant found in Egypt. QANEH means a sharp reed.

B. The word is used to describe an unstable, unreliable, fickle person, Mt 11:7.

C. The reed is also used to describe maximum pressure. Is 42:3 is speaking of Jesus Christ when he writes, “A brushed reed that will not break.”

D. The reed is used to represent the administration of the fifth cycle of discipline, 1 Kg 14:15.

E. The reed is used to represent reversionism, Isa 36:6; Ezek 29:6-7.
